Let me say that I like this Pack, like it a lot!
Next is the craftsmanship. Really, nothing to be said here other than it’s the typical craftsmanship I have come to expect with any Hidden Woodsmen gear. Excellent!
Upon opening the shipping carton and looking the bag over, I decided to take a short walk, threw some random stuff in the bag and stepped off. A half mile up, a half mile back. I was impressed with how the bag rode.
I decided to load the bag up for use. First the side pouches. They are Huge! One pouch holds a 40 oz Klean Kanteen water bottle, and the other houses a Stanley Adventure cook kit with a nesting cup. They fit perfectly with plenty of space.
Next is the bucket itself. It’s exactly what I like. One big open compartment. I just really do not care for internal pouches. The orange inside is great though and lights up the inside of the pack well. The pouches I organize my gear in fit well. Cinch the top down and cover it with the lid and I had a neat organized rucksack. The lid does have a “possibles bag” built in that I used to house a few things that packed away flat for quick access.
Overall I am very happy with the Deep Woods 35l Rucksack. I find it a very comfortable pack to wear. Dare I say that it is the most comfortable on my back than my other packs? I have only used it on the short walk I mentioned and one overnighter. Just have not owned the pack long enough to do more, but I do think it will be used frequently!
